Biography

2012 SOCON ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM
2012 SOCON MEDIA ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

Head Coach Scott Padgett on Hood
“Tyler is the guy who’s always doing the right thing. He’s always in the right spot and he always gives you 100-percent effort. He’s very dependable and I think in the last couple years, he’s been thrown into a role where he was told to be a leader, instead of letting the natural thing take its course. Over the last couple years, we haven’t had any seniors and not many juniors, so it’s hard to tell a sophomore that he’s the leader. Therefore, I didn’t choose any captains right away, because I wanted to see who would emerge as leaders. Now, when it’s not thrown on him, I think Tyler has definitely emerged on his own as one of the leaders, and he’s earned it, because he does everything the right way and he leads by example.

“On the floor, he provides some versatility, because he can post up, as well as go out to the 3-point line and really shoot the ball. He’s also a little bit of a coach on the floor, because he always knows what’s going on.”
