Biography

Head Coach Scott Padgett on Peters

ON THE RECRUITING TRAIL
“What I loved about Alex the first time I saw him play was that his team was winning a game by 34 points, and this still sticks in my mind even to this day. He was on the far left side of the court. He then sprints full speed all the way over to the right side, does a full layout dive to save the ball from going out of bounds and taps it ahead to a wide-open teammate, who then picks it up and lays it in for the basket. I loved this, because he was still playing that hard to help give his team a 36 point lead.”

DURING HIS TIME AT SAMFORD
“His motor is phenomenal. He has really helped us defensively, especially in the way that we play in the press and we know that he’s going to do whatever it takes to win a game. He is also a specialist in the way that he get back defensively, remains in position and takes those key charges. It’s really a tough thing to do, but he’s perfected it and it definitely helps to shift momentum in a game.”
