Q&A with Head Coach, Oliver ReynoldsÂ
Tell us about your college experience.
My time here at Samford as a student-athlete was a first class experience. I played for the Men's Tennis Team from 2007-2011. During this time we were able to win 2 conference tournament championships. The first conference tournament championship was my freshman year, as we were in our final year in the OVC, before transitioning to the Southern Conference. The second was my senior year, and still to this day it was in one of my favorite moments as a tennis player.
What is your favorite dessert?
I have always enjoyed a good cupcake. Something about them just gets me excited!
What is your favorite movie?
I have always loved ALL of the James Bond films.
What is the most rewarding part of being the Samford Men's Tennis head coach?
The most rewarding part of being the Head Samford Men’s Tennis Coach, is by far being back at a place that gave me so much when I was a student-athlete. The opportunity to help mold these young men, and help them progress is truly special. My hope is to make sure they enjoy their entire experience while apart of this school and program.

What can we expect from a Coach Reynolds led team? Tell us about your coaching philosophy.
As we just finished my first season as the Head Coach here, I am looking forward to growing this program to continue to standout in college tennis. We want to make sure we are competing for the Southern Conference Championship on a yearly basis to allow us to get to the NCAA tournament in May. As a coach I am a big believer in work-ethic. Nothing in life normally comes easy, so it is important to instill work-ethic in our young men to help prepare them for the tough moments that come up during matches.
Final Message from Oliver:
"As a former student-athlete here at Samford, I am beyond grateful for what this place provides all of our student-athletes across campus. Before being back at Samford, I learned quickly how important it was to be able to give back to programs, as it is vital to them to have the resources they need to be successful. Samford has had an extremely successful last couple of years in sports across campus, and I believe our alumni have played a major factor in this success. GO DOGS!!!!"
