T.J. Dixon enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Samford softball coaching staff.    
    
Dixon spent the 2022 season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Samford baseball program. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a third-place finish in the Southern Conference regular season standings and the team reached the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament. 
        
Dixon was a standout on the Samford baseball team from 2014 to 2017. He holds the school career records for games played with 232, runs scored with 188 and at-bats with 895. For his career, he batted .295 with 38 doubles, 15 triples, six home runs and 116 RBI. He was named to the SoCon’s All-Freshman team in 2014, and he earned All-SoCon Tournament team honors in 2017.
         
Dixon was selected in the 24th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins. Dixon spent the 2017 season with the Elizabethton Twins, hitting .259 with 19 RBI and a .333 slugging percentage that season.
        
Dixon and his wife, Morgan, have one son, Tyler.
