Samford University Athletics

Angela Talaganis joined the Samford Sports Medicine staff in 2022. Talaganis serves as the athletic trainer for the baseball program. She came to Birmingham after being the athletic trainer for the Burlington Sock Puppets in Burlington, North Carolina, where she also served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Appalachian League Collegiate Wood Bat Baseball.

Talaganis previously served as the athletic trainer for baseball at High Point University from 2019-2022. She has a wide variety of experience covering multiple sports including baseball, basketball, and hockey.

Her professional certifications and licensures include Licensed Athletic Trainer from the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers (LAT) and Certified Athletic Trainer from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (ATC); and American Heart Association CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers. She is also certified in integrative dry needling and Functional Movement Techniques – Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.
