Samford University Athletics

Nathan Sheehan begins his first full season as an Assistant Sports Information Director at Samford after serving as an intern during the 2011-12 season. He serves as the primary contact for volleyball, softball, cross country and track. Prior to joining the Samford Athletic Department in August of 2011, Sheehan was an intern with the Virginia Tech Athletics Communications Department during the 2010-11 season. There, he was the primary contact for men[apos]s soccer, cross country and track. Sheehan is a 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa, where he earned his bachelor[apos]s degree double-majoring in English and journalism & mass communication. He worked two years in the Sports Information Department as a student staff member, serving as the primary media contact for the cross country and track programs. He also worked three years in the University of Iowa Writing Center as a Writing Fellow, an undergraduate peer tutoring program to help students with their writing skills. He was a four-year member of the Honors Program and graduated with a cumulative 3.5 GPA. Sheehan is originally from Gurnee, Ill., and currently resides in Hoover, Ala.
