Andre' Bruce enters his first season as an assistant football coach at Samford University.
Bruce comes to Samford after working at Rice University since February, 2006. At Rice, Bruce served as the associate director of strength and conditioning. He also served as a mentor to both interns and staff members at Rice.
Prior to his time at Rice, Bruce served as the defensive coordinator at Emporia State University from February, 2004 to June, 2005. At Emporia, he coached the secondary and assisted with the special teams.
From July to December of 2003, Bruce was an assistant football coach at Fort Worth Country Day School. He coached the running backs and defensive lineman at Forth Worth Country Day.
From August, 2000 to June, 2002, Bruce worked on the staff at his alma mater, Texas Christian University (TCU). Bruce served as the assistant director of football operations from August, 2000 to January, 2001, and he was a graduate assistant coach from January, 2001 to June, 2002.
He began his coaching career as an undergraduate assistant coach at TCU from May 1999 to January, 2000.
Bruce, a 1999 graduate of TCU, served as a four-year letterman for the Horned Frogs, and he was a starter at defensive back. Bruce was the winner of both the Abe Martin Award and the Iron Frog Award while at TCU.
