Kip Owens enters his first season as assistant coach with the Bulldog staff prior to the 2025-26 season.
Prior to his time at Samford, Owens spent one season at Furman as an assistant coach. Owens joined the Furman staff in the summer of 2024 after five seasons at NCAA Division II Flagler University. He spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Saints before being promoted to associate head men's basketball coach on April 21, 2022.
In his final season in St. Augustine, Fla., Owens led Flagler to a 20-11 mark and an appearance in the Peach Belt Conference finals.
Owens played at the University of Alabama in Huntsville for head coach Lennie Acuff. During his four years at UAH, the Chargers made three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and hosted two regionals. UAH won the Gulf South Conference Tournament twice (2015 and 2017) and won or shared the regular season title twice (2014-15 and 2015-16).
