Junior (2010-11): Named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 Southern Conference Tournament as he helped lead the Bulldogs to the championship title of the four-day event . . . named to the All-Tournament Team of the 2011 SoCon Tournament . . . registered a 13-12 record at the No. 1 singles position . . . paired with teammate Fernando Costa to compile a 10-10 mark at No. 3 doubles, including a solid 6-4 record in conference play . . . finished the season ranked sixth in the SoCon at No. 1 singles with a 13-12 record . . . placed fourth in the conference at the No. 3 doubles position with a 6-4 league mark . . . named to the SoCon All-Academic Team for all of his hard work and dedication in the classroom . . . five-time member of Samford’s Dean’s List . . . his research project, “The Impact of Water Vanes on Shades Creek, Alabama” was selected by Drs. Elizabeth Dobbins and Kristin Bakkegard to be presented at the 2012 Southeastern Biologists Conference in Athens, Ga. . . . earned his third varsity letter.
Sophomore (2009-10): Tallied his second straight Southern Conference postseason honor as he earned Second-Team All-SoCon accolades for his performance at the Bulldogs’ top spot in the singles lineup . . . concluded dual-match play with a 13-9 overall record and a stellar 7-3 mark against SoCon opponents . . . played primarily at the No. 1 singles position and tallied a 5-4 mark at the spot . . . also competed on court No. 4 and finished the season with a 5-3 record at the position . . . registered a 2-1 mark at the No. 3 singles spot and finished the campaign with a 6-4 record . . . teamed with Zac Dunkle during the spring season to earn a 5-6 mark in doubles play . . . the pair competed primarily at the No. 2 position and tallied a 3-5 record at the spot . . . the tandem was also 2-0 when playing on court No. 3 . . . additionally paired with Michael Browder in double play and finished the dual-match season with a 4-6 mark . . . compiled a 3-1 record at the 2010 USTA-ITA Southeast Regional Championships, which was held at the Alabama Tennis Complex . . . concluded the tournament with straight-set victories against Alabama’s Ricky Doverspice, 6-3, 6-3, and Michael Thompson, 6-4, 6-2 . . . named to the SoCon All-Academic Team for all of his hard work and dedication in the classroom . . . earned his second varsity letter.
Freshman (2008-09): Named to the 2009 SoCon All-Freshman Team . . . finished the season with the team’s best record in singles play with a 17-6 dual-match record . . . played primarily at the No. 3 singles position and tallied an impressive 12-4 mark at the spot . . . in SoCon play, he notched an 8-2 singles record . . . compiled the sixth best singles record in the conference and the SoCon’s second best mark on court No. 3 . . . in SoCon play alone, he earned the third best record in No. 3 singles play (7-3) . . . competed at the No. 3 doubles position along with teammate Richard Walsh and finished the season with a 9-8 record . . . the combination was also 5-4 during SoCon play . . . earned the Flight 6 Singles Championship title at the 2009 Samford Spring Invitational . . . during his trek to the championship, he picked up key wins against Jacksonville State’s Steffen Soloman and UAB’s Tyrone Ewels . . . competed at the 2008 Crimson Tide Championships along with teammate Carl Abalos and picked up a key 8-5 doubles victory against Troy’s combination of Phil Janz and Maxime Zamora . . . earned his first varsity letter.
High School: Competed at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, La., and later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he played at Coppell High School . . . proved to be a member of Samford’s 2008 recruiting class which was ranked No. 16 in the nation among mid-major programs by
www.TennisRecruiting.net . . . finished his prep career as the second-ranked player in Louisiana, the No. 13-ranked player in the Gulf States Region and the No. 100-ranked player in the nation . . . concluded his high school career with a 48-12 overall record . . . in 2007, he captured both the Louisiana Junior State Championship and the Louisiana State Clay Court title . . . finished his high school career with a 3.4 grade-point average.
