Biography
2011 (Junior): Competed in all five meets during the season … finished with a season-best time of 17:50.60 at the SoCon Championships, placing 18th … Earned times of 18:21.01 and 18:24.34 at the Alabama Crimson Classic and the Greater Louisville Classic, respectively … ran 15:27.1 and 15:42.30 in the 4k at the Auburn Invitational and Samford-UAB Dual Meet, respectively.
2010 (Sophomore): Ran in every meet for the Bulldog women in her sophomore year...posted her best finishes of the year at the Crimson Classic (Sept. 10) and the Front Runner Invitational (Oct. 16), finishing 28th and 14th, respectively...finished seventh on the team and 69th overall at the SoCon Championship (Oct. 30).
2009 (Freshman): Ran in four meets for the Bulldogs as a true freshman...began her 2009 season at the Crimson Classic (5K), finishing 64th with a time of 20:17.30...turned in her best performance at the Southeast Showdown, coming in 13th in the 3K race with a time of 1:26.93...also helped lead the Samford women to their third first place finish of the season at the Furman Invitational with a 16th place finish in the 5K race...placed 70th at the SoCon Championship, where the Bulldogs claimed the women's title.
High School: Personal bests in high school included 2:13 in the 800 meters, 4:40 in the 1,500 and 18:48 in the 5.2K.
Personal: Born July 19, 1991...daughter of Bill and Janet Benson...majoring in nursing.
