BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – College Sports Madness has named Samford freshman guard
Kassidy Blevins as its Madness Southern Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball.
Blevins helped lead the Bulldogs to a 58-43 win at Georgia Southern Saturday evening. In the win, Blevins scored a career-high 21 points. Blevins made 8-of-14 shots from the floor and 5-of-7 from three-point range. She also grabbed a career-high six rebounds in the win.
Blevins has started the last four games for the Bulldogs, and during that span she has averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Samford has won three of those four contests.
Samford will return to action Monday evening, when the Bulldogs play at Davidson. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. (CT) start, and it can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at
