GREENVILLE, S.C.— The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Greenville, S.C., to take on the Furman Paladins Monday evening at 6 p.m. (CT) at Timmons Arena.
Samford enters the game with a record of 14-11 overall and 7-3 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 68-43 win at Wofford Saturday afternoon.
Samford is led in scoring by Hannah Nichols, averaging 14.0 points per game. Taylor Reece averages 10.8 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Destiney Elliott leads Samford in rebounding, grabbing 6.0 boards per contest. Krista Stricklin averages 4.8 rebounds per game.
The team leader in assists is Brittany Stevens, averaging 3.4 assists per game. Lydia McGee averages 2.2 assists per game, while Elliott averages 2.1 assists per game.
Furman is currently 15-11 overall and 4-6 in SoCon games. The Paladins are coming off an 88-82 overtime loss to Mercer Saturday afternoon.
For the season, Furman is led in scoring by Whitney Bunn, averaging 14.3 points per game. Brittany Hodges scores 13.4 points per game, while Holli Wilkins averages 12.8 points per game.
Hodges is the team leader in rebounding, grabbing 8.9 boards per contest. Sarah Durdaller averages 7.9 rebounds per game.
Bunn leads the team in assists, dishing out 7.1 assists per game. Wilkins averages 1.6 assists per game for the Paladins.
Samford and Furman are meeting for the 14th time, with the Bulldogs holding a 10-3 advantage in the series. The teams met earlier this season, on Jan. 17, in the Pete Hanna Center. Samford won the earlier meeting by a score of 76-65. Last season, the teams split the two regular-season meetings, with each team winning at home.
