GREENVILLE, S.C.--The Samford women's basketball team will play at Furman in a battle of first-place Southern Conference teams Thursday at 10 a.m. (CT) at Timmons Arena.

Samord and Furman enter the week in a three-way tie with Mercer for first place in the Southern Conference. The three teams each have league records of 4-1 so far this season.

Samford enters the game with a record of 12-8 overall. The Bulldogs are coming off a 48-43 win over Chattanooga last Saturday.

Furman came back to win the second meeting in Greenville, S.C. by a score of 64-44. Samford and Furman met a third time last season in the SoCon Tournament, with Furman winning, 65-54.
