SPARTANBURG, S.C.—The Samford women's basketball team will play at the Wofford Terriers in Southern Conference action Saturday afternoon at Benjamin Johnson Arena.
Samford enters Saturday's game with a record of 13-8 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 58-45 win at Furman Thursday morning.
Entering Saturday's game,
Taylor Reece leads Samford in scoring per game, averaging 9.6 points per contest.
Destiney Elliott averages 9.3 points per game for Samford.
Elliott leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 7.8 boards per contest.
Amara Mayers is second on the team at 4.1 rebounds per game.
Brittany Stevens leads the team in assists, dishing out 2.4 assists per game. Elliott averages 2.0 assists per game.
Wofford enters the game with a record of 7-13 overall and 1-5 in Southern Conference play. The Terriers dropped a 70-61 decision to Mercer Thursday morning.
Kentra Washington leads Wofford in scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game. Jordan Frazier scores 9.0 points per game for the Terriers.
Ashton Fleming leads Wofford in rebounding, grabbing 7.3 boards per contest. Washington ranks second in the category, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game.
Frazier leads the team in assists, at 1.9 assists per game. Washington averages 1.7 assists per game.
Samford and Wofford are meeting for the 19th time, with the Bulldogs holding a 16-2 advantage in the series. The teams met twice last season, with Samford winning both meetings. On Feb. 7, Samford came away with a 69-50 victory in the Hanna Center. The teams met again on Feb. 14, with Samford winning, 68-43 in Spartanburg, S.C.
The Bulldogs are 8-0 against Wofford in Birmingham, 6-2 against the Terriers in Spartanburg, S.C., and 2-0 at neutral sites. Samford has won the last seven meetings in the series.
