WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT) at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Samford enters the game with a record of 5-5. The Bulldogs are coming off a 52-49 win over cross-town rival UAB on Dec. 8.
For the season, Samford is led in scoring by junior guard
Hannah Nichols, averaging 14.4 points per game. Junior guard
Kassidy Blevins scores 14.0 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Freshman forward
Samantha Fitzgerald leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 4.7 boards per contest. Senior forward
Ellen Riggins averages 4.4 rebounds per game.
Senior point guard
Brittany Stevens is the team leader in assists, dishing out 3.5 assists per game. Freshman guard
Charity Brown averages 3.1 assists per game for Samford.
Wake Forest comes into Sunday's game with a record of 7-3. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 68-60 loss to Radford on Dec. 10.
Wake Forest is led in scoring by Amber Campbell, averaging 15.2 points per game. Ariel Stephenson averages 14.6 points per game for the Demon Deacons.
Milan Quinn leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 9.8 boards per contest. Alex Sharp averages 7.1 rebounds per game.
Stephenson is the team leader in assists, dishing out 2.9 assists per game. Kortni Simmons averages 2.6 assists per game for Wake Forest.
Sunday's game will mark the first time Samford and Wake Forest have ever met in women's basketball.
