Women's Golf To Open Spring Season Saturday

ATHENS, Ga.—The Samford women's golf team will open the spring portion of its season by competing in the Lady Bulldog Individual Tournament, held at the University of Georgia Golf Course Saturday.
The tournament will feature 38 golfers from seven schools. In addition to Samford and the host school, Georgia, competitors from Auburn, Dalton State, Ole Miss, UNC Greensboro and Tennessee will be in the field.
Samford will field a young team during the 2015-16 season. In fall competition, the team's top five performers were all either freshmen or sophomores.
Samford was led in fall events by freshman Anna Buchanan, who posted a stroke average of 75.53. Freshman Emily Uhland averaged 75.87, while freshman Crockett Floyd averaged 77.42. Sophomore Madeline Davis posted an average of 79.13, while sophomore Kate Collom averaged 79.53.
The one-day tournament is scheduled to be a 36-hole event. A full recap and results will be posted to www.samfordsports.com following the tournament.
