GREENVILLE, S.C.— The Samford men's golf team will compete in the Furman Intercollegiate, held at the Furman University Golf Course (par 72, 6,994 yards), Friday through Sunday.

Round one of the 54-hole tournament tees off on Friday morning at 8 a.m. The second round is slated for Saturday, and final round action is scheduled to begin with a 10 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday morning.

Samford and Furman are joined in the 19-team field by Akron, Chattanooga, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, Harvard, Jacksonville, Marshall, Mercer, Presbyterian, Temple, USC Aiken, USC Upstate, Virginia Tech, Western Carolina and Wofford.

So far this season, Samford has used a lineup with a mix of veterans and newcomers. The team has been led by senior Zach Hughes with a stroke average of 73.15, with three top 10 finishes in 20 rounds of action. Freshman Aaron Walker has a 75.00 average in 17 rounds.

Junior Ashton Nix has posted a stroke average of 75.24 in 17 rounds so far this season. Juniors Robert Adams (76.08 avg. in 12 rounds) and Austin Jackson (76.09 avg. in 11 rounds), and freshmen Crawford Flach (76.38 avg. in 16 rounds) and Jackson Seawell (79.60 avg. in 10 rounds) have also seen significant playing time this season.
