W-Tennis Travels To Florida For Two Matches

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will travel to Florida for matches at UCF on Thursday and at Stetson on Friday.

The UCF match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., while the Stetson match is set for a 4 p.m. start.

Samford enters the week with a record of 4-6. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-3 win over UT Martin on Sunday.

So far this season, two of the leaders of the Samford team have been seniors Jessica Northcutt and Carita Moolman. Northcutt has played at No. 1 singles and has a record of 3-7. Moolman has been Samford's entry at No. 2 singles, accumulating a record of 3-6. The pair also combine for Samford's No. 1 doubles team, posting a record of 6-3.

Fellow senior Iva Parapunova has played in the No. 3 position for Samford so far this season. Parapunova has a record of 4-6. Ellie Gerlach (4-5) has played most of the team's matches at No. 4 singles. Savannah Wood has a record of 6-4 (6-3 at No. 5 and 0-1 at No. 4).

The No. 6 singles position has been split between Annika Hepp and Georgina Jupp. Hepp has a record of 3-3, while Jupp has a mark of 1-2.

UCF enters Thursday's match with a record of 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the American Athletic Conference. The Knights are coming off a 4-3 win over Connecticut on March 4.

Stetson is currently 3-5 on the young season. The Hatters are coming off a 4-3 loss at Mercer on March 3. Stetson will also host Richmond on Wednesday.
