BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University track and field programs head down to Auburn, Alabama to compete in the Auburn University Tiger Track Classic on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, at Hutsell-Rosen Track.
The Bulldogs will get the meet started at 4 p.m. on Friday as a contingent is set to compete in the women's hammer throw (
Tatiana Taylor), women's javelin (
Kaitlin West,
Berkley Bryan,
Emily Eustace), men's triple jump (
Javion Lee) and women's triple jump (
Tiana Pisoni,
Megan Meadow).
Samford will round out Friday's competition schedule with the men's javelin (
Chris Thrasher), women's 5,000 meters (
Anna Long) and men's 5,000 meters (
Luke Weishaar,
Ben Bryant,
Paul Richardson).
Competition ramps up on the final day of competition as the rest of the squad will compete in 24 of the 33 scheduled events on the day. The first event for Samford will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault (
Sarah Lee,
Lindsey Kessler) with the last field event set to start with the men's pole vault (
Tray Oates,
Gavin Gautreau,
Austin Eckenroth) at 3:30 p.m.
Running events will start at 11:30 a.m. overall with the men's and women's 4x100 meter relays but Samford will begin its day on the track with the women's (
Emma Garner,
Laura Sola Tari) and men's (
Owen Bailey,
Josh Salter) 1,500 meters which are set to start at 11:50 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. respectively.
The Bulldogs will concluded the Tiger Track Classic with the women's and men's 4x400 meter relays which are schedule for 5:25 p.m. & 5:45 p.m.
