MACON, Ga. – The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Macon, Ga., to take on the Mercer Bears in a key Southern Conference game Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) at Hawkins Arena.

www.samford.edu/wvsu. The contest will also be broadcast live on ESPN3.
Samford enters the game with a record of 9-12 overall and 2-4 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 72-50 non-conference win over Auburn-Montgomery Tuesday night.
For the season, Samford is led offensively by junior
Hannah Nichols, averaging 14.7 points per game. Junior
Kassidy Blevins averages 10.3 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Freshman
Samantha Fitzgerald leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game. Senior
Ellen Riggins averages 4.0 rebounds per game for Samford.
Senior
Brittany Stevens leads the team in assists, dishing out 2.9 assists per game. Freshman
Charity Brown averages 2.5 assists per game for the Bulldogs.
Mercer is currently 16-4 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bears are coming off a 54-39 win over Wofford Saturday afternoon.
Mercer is led in scoring by Kahlia Lawrence, averaging 18.8 points per game. KeKe Calloway averages 13.6 points per game for the Bears.
Amanda Thompson leads Mercer in rebounding, grabbing 7.2 boards per contest. Alex Williams averages 6.8 rebounds per game for Mercer.
The team leader in assists is Sydni Means, dishing out 6.7 assists per game. Lawrence averages 1.6 assists per game for the Bears.
Samford and Mercer will be meeting for the 17th time, with Mercer holding an 11-5 advantage in the series. The teams met twice last season, with Mercer winning both contests. In the first meeting, Mercer defeated Samford, 63-60 in the Pete Hanna Center. Later in the season, Mercer took a 63-61 win in Macon, Ga.
