1). The Samford women's basketball team will play host to Southern Mississippi Tuesday at 12 p.m. (CT) in the Pete Hanna Center. Admission to all Samford home games is FREE!
 
2). Samford enters the game with a record of 5-6. The Bulldogs are coming off an 80-73 win over in-state rival Troy Sunday in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
3). Samford senior Hannah Nichols is leading the team in scoring and rebounding so far this season, averaging 16.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 10.5 points and 4.9 boards per contest.
 
4). Samford sophomore Samantha Fitzgerald averages 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore Charity Brown is averaging 7.8 points and 7.4 assists per game.
 
5). Hannah Nichols ranks second in school history in both 3-pointers made (225) and 3-pointers attempted (594). She also ranks fourth in school history in scoring (1,265) and fifth in field goals made (452), while ranking sixth in field goals attempted (1,032) and blocks (63).
 
SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI
1). Southern Mississippi has a record of 7-3. The Lady Eagles are coming off a 58-38 win over Sam Houston State Friday night.
           
2). Jayla King leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. Shonte Hailes scores 11.7 points per game.
           
3). King also leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 9.1 boards per contest. Respect Lephart and Amber Landing average 4.5 rebounds per game each.
 
4). Hailes leads the team in assists, dishing out 5.7 assists per game. Megan Brown averages 2.8 assists per game for the Lady Eagles.
 
5). Samford and Southern Miss are meeting for the sixth time, with USM holding a 4-1 edge in the series. The teams last met on Nov. 28, 2015, with USM earning a 56-48 win over Samford.
