Women's Basketball Travels To Iowa For Sunday Contest

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT). Information on the game and links to follow the contest are below.

SAMFORD
1). The Bulldogs travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Sunday, Dec. 2. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. (CT), and the game can be seen online via the Big Ten Network Plus.
 
2). Samford enters the game with a record of 3-4 so far this season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 58-51 win over UCF Thursday evening.
 
3). Samford senior Hannah Nichols is leading the team in scoring and rebounding so far this season, averaging 16.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 9.7 points and 4.7 boards per contest.
 
4). Samford sophomore Samantha Fitzgerald averages 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore Charity Brown is averaging 8.0 points and 7.7 assists per game.
 
5). Samford and Iowa have met just one previous time, with Iowa earning the win in that contest. The previous meeting came on Dec. 3, 2006, with the Hawkeyes defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 66-60.
 
 
IOWA
1). Iowa is currently 7-1 entering Sunday's game. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 94-93 loss to Florida State Wednesday evening.
           
2). Megan Guftafson leads the Hawkeyes in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 22.9 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. Alexis Sevillian is scoring 13.6 points per game for Iowa.
           
3). Hannah Stewart grabs 5.9 rebounds per game for the Hawkeyes. Chase Coley pulls down 5.5 boards per contest.
           
4). Tania Davis and Makenzie Meyer share the team lead in assists, dishing out 5.4 per game each.
 
5). As a team, the Hawkeyes are averaging 88.1 points per game, and the team is shooting 52.3 percent from the floor.
