NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Samford women's basketball team looks to build on the momentum gained with three-straight home wins when the Bulldogs compete in the Tulane Classic Thursday and Friday at Fogelman Arena. The Bulldogs will play UTEP Thursday at 4:30 p.m. (CT), and then will take on either Tulane or Troy Friday at either 1 or 3 p.m. (CT).

1). The Samford women's basketball team will compete in the Tulane Classic Thursday and Friday in New Orleans, La. The Bulldogs will take on UTEP Thursday at 4:30 p.m. (CT) and then will play either Tulane or Troy Friday at either 1 or 3 p.m. (CT).
 
2). Samford enters the game with a record of 6-6. The Bulldogs are coming off a 61-56 win Southern Mississippi Tuesday in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
3). Samford senior Hannah Nichols is leading the team in scoring and rebounding so far this season, averaging 15.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 10.6 points and 4.8 boards per contest.
 
4). Samford sophomore Samantha Fitzgerald averages 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore Charity Brown is averaging 8.3 points and 7.2 assists per game. Brown assists average ranks seventh in the nation.
 
5). Hannah Nichols ranks second in school history in both 3-pointers made (225) and 3-pointers attempted (595). She also ranks fourth in school history in scoring (1,270) and fifth in field goals made (454), while ranking sixth in field goals attempted (1,037) and blocks (63).
 
UTEP
1). UTEP enters this week's tournament with a record of 6-3. The Miners are coming off a 93-79 overtime win over East Carolina Sunday afternoon.
           
2). UTEP is led in scoring by Tamara Seda, averaging 15.6 points per game. Najala Howell averages 13.6 points per game.
           
3). Seda is also the team leader in rebounding, pulling down 10.6 boards per contest. Jordan Alexander averages 7.3 rebounds per game.
           
4). Faith Cook and Jordan Jenkins share the team lead in assists, dishing out 2.8 assists per game. Howell averages 2.3 assists per game for the Miners.
 
5). Samford and UTEP will be meeting for the first time ever in women's basketball.
