BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will host the Western Carolina Catamounts Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.

The game will be Samford's Play4Kay game, benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Play4Kay t-shirts and socks will be sold at the game. There will also be a silent auction at Saturday's game, where fans can bid on the team's pink jerseys, a Play4Kay shirt autographed by the team, and a four-pack of front row seats and a meet-and-greet with the Harlem Globetrotters for their game on Mar. 19
th in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford enters the game with a record of 9-16 overall and 2-8 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 55-47 loss to UNCG Thursday night in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford is led in scoring by junior
Hannah Nichols, averaging 13.6 points per game. Fellow junior
Kassidy Blevins averages 9.6 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Senior
Lydia McGee averages a team-high 4.5 rebounds per game. Freshman
Samantha Fitzgerald grabs 4.1 boards per contest for Samford.
Senior
Brittany Stevens is the team leader in assists, dishing out 2.9 assists per game. Freshman
Charity Brown averages 2.2 assists per game so far this season.
Western Carolina comes into Saturday's game with a record of 7-18 overall and 2-8 in Southern Conference play. The Catamounts are coming off an 84-53 loss at Mercer Thursday night.
WCU is led in scoring by Raziyah Farrington, averaging 10.5 points per game. Sherae Bonner averages 10.0 points per game for the Catamounts.
Bonner is the team leader in rebounding, pulling down 9.3 boards per contest. Tembre Moates averages 4.0 rebounds per game.
Kyia Hogh leads WCU in assists, dishing out 2.7 assists per game. Farrington averages 1.6 assists per game.
Samford and Western Carolina will be meeting for the 20th time, with Samford holding a 15-4 advantage in the series. The teams met earlier this season, on Jan. 12 in Cullowhee, N.C. Samford won that earlier meeting by a score of 49-42. Samford is 7-1 against Western Carolina in Birmingham, 7-2 when playing in Cullowhee, N.C., and 1-1 against the Catamounts at neutral sites.
