GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Samford women's basketball team travel to Greenville, S.C., to take on the Furman Paladins in a key Southern Conference game Thursday evening at Timmons Arena.

Samford enters the game with a record of 10-16 overall and 3-8 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 51-50 win over Western Carolina Saturday afternoon.
For the season, Samford is led in scoring by junior
Hannah Nichols, averaging 13.5 points per game. Nichols recently became just the eighth player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She now ranks seventh in school history with 1,016 career points.
Freshman
Samantha Fitzgerald leads the team in rebounding, grabbing a total of 104 so far this season. Senior
Ellen Riggins has pulled down a total of 100 rebounds this year.
Senior
Brittany Stevens has dished out a team-high 75 assists so far this season. Riggins is second on the squad in assists with 59 total assists.
Furman comes into Thursday night's game with a record of 13-13 overall and 6-4 in Southern Conference games. The Paladins are coming off a 65-60 win over Wofford Saturday afternoon.
Cierra Carter leads Furman in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. Le'Jzae Davidson averages 11.0 points per game for the Paladins.
Carter is also the team leader in rebounding, grabbing 8.1 boards per contest. Tierra Hodges averages 5.5 rebounds per game.
Carter leads the team in assists as well, dishing out 1.4 assists per game. Davidson averages 1.2 assists per game for Furman.
Samford and Furman are meeting for the 19
th time, with the Bulldogs holding a 12-6 advantage in the series. The teams met earlier this season, on Jan. 21, in the Pete Hanna Center. Furman claimed a 54-50 victory in that earlier meeting. Samford has a record of 7-2 against Furman in Birmingham, 5-3 in Greenville, S.C., and 0-1 against the Paladins on neutral floors.
