COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Samford softball team has added a game at Tennessee Tech to be played Wednesday at 4 p.m. The game replaces the team's Tuesday game at Lipscomb, which was postponed due to inclement weather.
Samford enters the week with a record of 16-25 overall and 6-3 in Southern Conference play after winning two-of-three games from ETSU over the weekend. Samford won the first two games over ETSU by scores of 2-0 and 5-2, before falling in the final game, 6-1.
Tennessee Tech is currently 13-22 overall and 6-4 in Ohio Valley Conference games. The Golden Eagles won three-of-four games against Tennessee State and Belmont over the weekend.
Samford and Tennessee Tech have met 34 previous times, with Tech holding a 20-14 advantage in the series. The programs were co-members of the OVC from 2004 to 2008.
Following Wednesday's game, Samford will play a three-game Southern Conference series this weekend at UNCG. The teams will play a doubleheader Friday, beginning at 12 p.m. (CT), followed by a single game Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT).
