Women's Basketball Travels To Chattanooga Thursday Evening

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford women's basketball team will play at Chattanooga Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (CT) at McKenzie Arena. Below are links to follow the game.

SAMFORD
1). The Samford women's basketball team comes into Thursday night's game with a record of 10-10 overall and 2-3 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 56-48 win over UNCG last Saturday.
 
2). As a team, Samford currently ranks second in the Southern Conference in three-pointers made per game (6.0), assists per game (14.7) and defensive rebound percentage (.690).
 
3). Individually, Charity Brown ranks second in the Southern Conference in both assists per game (6.4) and assist-turnover ratio (1.9). Olivia Crozier ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (.560), while Hannah Nichols ranks third in the SoCon in blocked shots per game (1.2), rebounding (7.2) and defensive rebounds (6.5), and fifth in three-pointers made per game (1.9) and three-point percentage (.340).
 
4). Samford is led in scoring and rebounding by senior guard Hannah Nichols, averaging 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 10.2 points and 5.5 boards per contest.
 
5). Hannah Nichols ranks second in school history in both 3-pointers made (229) and 3-pointers attempted (623). She ranks fourth in SU history in scoring (1,339), field goals made (475), field goals attempted (1,106) and blocks (75), and she ranks ninth in rebounding (489)
 
CHATTANOOGA
1). Chattanooga has a record of 12-7 overall and 3-2 in Southern Conference play. The Mocs are coming off a 58-57 loss at Furman last Saturday.
           
2). Keiana Gilbert leads the Mocs in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. Aryanna Gilbert scores 13.1 points per game for Chattanooga.
           
3). Keiana Gilbert is also the team leader in rebounding, grabbing 6.1 boards per contest. Aryanna Gilbert is second at 5.9 rebounds per game.
           
4). Molly Melton averages 3.0 assists per game to lead the Mocs in that category. Aryanna Gilbert averages 2.9 assists per game.    
 
5). Samford and Chattanooga will be meeting for the 28th time, with Chattanooga holding a 20-7 advantage in the series. The teams met twice last season, with Chattanooga winning both contests. On Jan. 4, the Mocs earned a 77-61 win in the Pete Hanna Center, and Chattanooga claimed a 51-45 win on Feb. 4 in Chattanooga. Samford has a record of 5-7 against the Mocs in Birmingham, the team is 2-11 in games played in Chattanooga, and 0-2 against UTC at neutral sites.
