BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Former Samford standout cornerback
James Bradberry made his NFL postseason debut with the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Wild Card game Sunday at the New Orleans Saints.
The Panthers fell to the Saints by a score of 31-26, ending the team's season with a record of 11-6. In the game, Bradberry shared the team lead in tackles with eight total stops, including seven solo tackles. He also had one tackle for the loss in the game.
In 16 regular-season games this season, Bradberry tallied 85 total tackles, including 66 solo stops. He also had two interceptions, one sack and one forced fumble.
This was Bradberry's second season in the NFL, both with the Panthers. He was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by Carolina, and he has started all 29 games in which he has played.
Bradberry played at Samford from 2012 to 2015. For his four-year Samford career, Bradberry tallied 128 total tackles, including 90 solo stops. He recorded eight interceptions, tallying two in each of his four seasons. He was a three-time All-SoCon team member, and he was named an All-American as a senior in 2015.
