CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Samford volleyball team overcame a 2-0 deficit to earn a 3-2 (22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-11) Southern Conference win at Western Carolina Friday night. With the win, Samford improves to 11-11 overall and 6-2 in SoCon play.
KEY MOMENTS
- The first set of the match was tight throughout, with neither team able to separate.
- With the score tied at 21-21, WCU scored four of the next five points to take the 25-22 win.
- In the second set, Western Carolina jumped out to an 18-13 advantage.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to three at 22-19, but the Catamounts scored the next three points to take the set, 25-19.
- In the third set, Samford jumped out to an early 6-1 lead.
- The Bulldogs never looked back on their way to a 25-16 set win.
- In the fourth set, with Samford leading, 17-16, the Bulldogs closed the set with an 8-1 run to win the set, 25-17, and force a fifth set.

- Western Carolina fought back to cut the lead to one at 9-8.
