Women's Basketball To Host Chattanooga For Senior Day Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will host Chattanooga Saturday at 2 p.m. for the team's final home game of the season. Prior to the game, the team's lone senior, Hannah Nichols will be honored. Admission to the game is FREE. Below are links to follow the game online.

SAMFORD
1). Samford enters the game with a record of 14-14 overall and 6-7 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 64-52 setback to ETSU Thursday evening.
 
2). As a team, Samford currently leads the Southern Conference in three-pointers made per game (6.0). The Bulldogs also rank second in the league in assists per game (14.0), free throw percentage (.730) and defensive rebound percentage (.695). Samford ranks third in the league in scoring defense (61.5 ppg.) and assist/turnover ratio (0.9).
 
3). Individually, Charity Brown ranks second in the Southern Conference in both assists per game (5.6) and assist/turnover ratio (1.8). Olivia Crozier ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (.542), while Hannah Nichols ranks second in defensive rebounds (6.2), third in rebounds (7.0), fourth in three-pointers made (1.8) and fifth in three-point percentage (.361).
 
4). Samford is led in scoring and rebounding by senior guard Hannah Nichols, averaging 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 8.8 points and 5.2 boards per contest.
 
5). Hannah Nichols recently set the school record for three-pointers attempted with 653. She also ranks second in school history in three-pointers made (242). She ranks fourth in SU history in scoring (1,420), field goals made (502), field goals attempted (1,174) and blocks (80). She ranks fifth in rebounding (541).
 
CHATTANOOGA
1). Chattanooga enters Saturday's game with a record of 16-11 overall and 7-6 in Southern Conference play. The Mocs are coming off a 65-56 loss at Mercer Thursday night.
           
2). Chattanooga is led in scoring by Keiana Gilbert, averaging 14.4 points per game. Aryanna Gilbert scores 12.5 points per game.
           
3). Arianne Whitaker leads the Mocs in rebounding, grabbing 6.6 boards per contest. Aryanna Gilbert averages 6.1 rebounds per game.
           
4). The team leader in assists is Aryanna Gilbert, dishing out 2.6 assists per game. Keiana Gilbert averages 2.4 assists per game.
 
5). Samford and Chattanooga will be meeting for the 29th time, with Chattanooga holding a 21-7 advantage in the series. The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 25, with UTC earning a 68-58 overtime win. Samford has a record of 5-7 against the Mocs in Birmingham, the team is 2-12 in games played in Chattanooga, and 0-2 against UTC at neutral sites.
