GAME NOTES
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford softball team will host Southern Conference rival Chattanooga in a key league series this weekend at the Samford Softball Field. The teams will play a doubleheader Friday at 4 p.m. (CT), and a single game Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT).
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 10-24 overall and 1-1 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs split two games at ETSU in the team's first SoCon series last Sunday. ETSU won the first game, 6-3, but Samford came back to take game two by a score of 2-1. Game three was not played due to inclement weather.
For Samford this season, senior center fielder
Shelby Maze leads the team with a .330 batting average with three doubles, four RBI, and a team-high 17 runs scored.
Hannah Trombley is hitting .318 with four home runs and a team-high 20 RBI.
Whitney Hinton leads the team in home runs with five, and is second in RBI with 17.

McKenna Gillespie has a team-best 3.90 ERA, to go along with her 3-7 record.
Taylor DeCelles leads the team in wins with a 4-9 record and a 5.38 ERA, while
Annalyn Yantis has a mark of 2-7, to go along with her 4.87 ERA.
Chattanooga is currently 14-20 overall and 0-3 in SoCon play. The Mocs were swept in a league series by Mercer last weekend. Chattanooga fell in the games by scores of 6-3, 2-1 and 11-0.
Samford and Chattanooga have met 48 previous times, with Chattanooga holding a 34-14 advantage in the series. The teams met four times last season, with Samford winning all four meetings. The Bulldogs swept the regular-season series by scores of 4-3, 5-0 and 11-6. The teams also met in the SoCon Tournament, with Samford earning a 9-8 victory.
Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. (CT) at the Samford Softball Field. Saturday's game three is scheduled for a 1 p.m. (CT) start. Admission to all three games is FREE. Links to follow each of the games are below.
