TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Samford softball team will travel to Tuscaloosa to compete in the Easton Crimson Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama, this weekend.
Friday, the Bulldogs will take on Fordham (11 a.m.) and Boston College (1:30 p.m.). Saturday, Samford will play Boston College (11 a.m.) and Fordham (6 p.m.). The Bulldogs will take on the host, Alabama Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 5-15. The Bulldogs won two of their three midweek games this week. The team fell to Fort Wayne, 11-7, Tuesday, but came back to sweep a doubleheader from Alabama State Wednesday, winning the games by scores of 10-6 and 9-0 in five innings.

Whitney Hinton hit .800 (8-for-10) with three doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI. In the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader, she hit three homers and drove in six runs.
For the season,
Hannah Trombley leads the team with a .313 batting average. Hinton leads the team in home runs with four and in RBI with 16.

McKenna Gillespie has a team-best 4.62 ERA.
Taylor DeCelles leads the team with a 3-4 record, while
Annalyn Yantis has a mark of 2-4.
Fordham comes into the weekend with a record of 4-11. The Rams went 3-2 last weekend at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic II. Fordham defeated Ball State (3-2), Robert Morris (9-6) and Florida International (7-2), but fell to Notre Dame (8-0) and Troy (1-0).
Boston College is currently 6-10 on the season. The Eagles split a pair of midweek games, defeating Ole Miss (8-2) and losing to Mississippi State (4-3).
The 13th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide enters the weekend with a mark of 12-5. The Crimson Tide went 2-3 at the Husky Classic in Seattle over the weekend. Alabama earned wins over BYU (7-6) and Portland State (3-0), but fell twice to top-ranked Washington (8-0 and 4-1) and once to Northwestern (4-0).
