INDIANAPOLIS -- The Samford University track and field team's 2018 campaign continued in strong fashion Friday as eight Bulldogs qualified to compete in the NCAA East Regional to be held in Tampa, Florida, from May 24-26, it was officially announced by the Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee.

Samford will boast six men and two women in the NCAA preliminary competition. The Bulldogs'
Marquis Barnes (Long jump),
Hugh Duggan (Pole vault),
Keyth Fightmaster (High jump), Arsène Guillorel (10,000m),
Tray Oates (Pole vault) and
Emmanuel Tait (100m) will represent the men's side of the roster.

The Bulldogs' women's representatives in the NCAA East Regional will be
Selena Popp (High jump) and
Haley Ward (10,000m).

The preliminary competitions are scheduled for May 24-26. The University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, will host the East Regional and California State University in Sacramento, Calif., will host the West Regional.

The qualifiers from the two regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 6-9, in Eugene, Oregon.
