GREENVILLE, S.C. – Samford's
Robert Allen hit a three-pointer with 5.6 seconds to go to lift the Bulldog men's basketball team with a 75-73 Southern Conference win at Furman Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.
With the win, Samford improves to 13-9 overall and 3-6 in Southern Conference play. The win marks Samford's first SoCon road win of the season. Furman falls to 16-5 overall and 5-4 in league contests.

- Josh Sharkey led Samford with 21 points and 12 assists.
- Allen finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
- Brandon Austin and Myron Gordon added 12 points each for the Bulldogs.
- For Furman, Matt Rafferty had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
- Noah Gurley scored 15 points for the Paladins, while Clay Mounce added 13 points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Samford jumped out to an early 13-7 lead with 14:18 to go in the first half after a pair of free throws by Sharkey.
- Furman fought back to cut the lead to 15-13, but Samford scored the next six points to take a 21-13 lead at the 9:51 mark in the first half after a three-pointer by DeAndre Thomas.
- Furman closed to within three again at 31-28, but Samford closed the half with an 8-4 run to take a 39-32 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- Furman scored the first six points of the second half to cut the lead to one at 39-38 with 17:20 to go.
- Samford pushed the lead back out to six at 47-41 with 14:26 to go after a dunk by Gordon.
- Furman came back to tie the game at 49-49 with 11:18 left in the second half.
- With Samford leading, 53-49, Furman went on a 14-4 run to take a 63-57 lead with 7:59 to go.
- The Paladins pushed their lead to 10 points at 71-61 with 4:21 to play.
- Samford answered with a 9-0 run to cut the lead to one at 71-70 with 2:06 left in regulation after a jumper by Sharkey.
- Furman's Rafferty made two free throws to make the score 73-70 with 21 seconds to go.
- Thomas then made a layup to cut the lead to 73-72 with 14 seconds left.
- After a Furman turnover, Allen hit the game winner off an assist from Sharkey to lift the Bulldogs to the 75-73 victory.
