BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A fourth quarter run by Chattanooga gave the Mocs a 73-63 come-from-behind win over Samford in Southern Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford led, 56-49, heading into the fourth quarter, but Chattanooga outscored the Bulldogs, 24-7 in the fourth quarter to come back for the win.
With the loss, Samford falls to 7-13 overall and 2-3 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga improves to 9-11 overall and 4-1 in league games.

- For Samford in the loss, Shauntai Battle scored a career-high 16 points.
- Cassidy Williams followed with 13 points for the Bulldogs.
- Chattanooga was led by Lakelyn Bouldin with 19 points, making 8-of-9 shots from the floor.
- Brooke Burns, Bria Dial and Abbey Cornelius added 14 points each for the Mocs.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Chattanooga jumped out to an early 6-2 lead, but Samford scored the next five points to take a 7-6 advantage with 5:25 left in the first quarter following a three-pointer by Ta'Naisha Hill.
- With Samford trailing, 8-7, the Bulldogs closed the first quarter with an 11-2 run to take an 18-10 lead at the end of the opening period.
- In the second quarter, Chattanooga fought back to cut the lead to just one point at 22-21 with 6:36 left in the quarter.
- Samford pushed the lead back out to six at 27-21 with 5:42 to go in the period after a layup on a fast break by Natalie Armstrong.
- The Bulldogs increased their lead to nine at 35-26 late in the second quarter, but a late basket by UTC's Bouldin cut the lead to 35-28 heading into the locker room at halftime.
- Samford pushed its lead to nine points at 39-30, but back-to-back Chattanooga three-pointers cut the lead to 39-36 with 6:14 to go in the third quarter.
- With Samford leading, 52-49, the Bulldogs scored the final four points of the quarter to take a 56-49 advantage at the end of the third period.
- In the fourth quarter, with Samford leading 57-51, Chattanooga went on a 10-0 run to take a 61-57 lead with 5:11 to go.
- The Mocs pushed their lead to seven points at 66-59.
- Chattanooga hit several key free throws down the stretch to pull out the 73-63 win.
