BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The football, volleyball and soccer teams all had big Southern Conference wins to highlight last week's action.
Another full week of action is in store for this week.
FOOTBALL
The football team earned a dramatic, 61-55 win in four overtimes over 25
th-ranked The Citadel. Quarterback
Liam Welch, who led a fourth-quarter comeback and scored the game-winning touchdown, was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week. Place-kicker
Mitchell Fineran earned SoCon Special Teams Player of the Week honors as well.
This week, the Bulldogs will host 14

SOCCER
The soccer team opened Southern Conference play with a 1-1 tie with Furman Friday night. The Bulldogs then earned a 1-0 win over Wofford Sunday evening.
This week, the soccer team will play at ETSU Friday night at 6 p.m. (CT). The team will then play at Western Carolina Sunday at 5 p.m. (CT). For links to follow the games, go to the soccer schedule page linked below.

VOLLEYBALL
The volleyball team earned three Southern Conference victories last week. The team defeated Chattanooga, 3-0, Wednesday night. The Bulldogs then picked up weekend wins on the road at Wofford (3-1) and The Citadel (3-1).
Kelsi Hobbs was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.

The Samford women's golf team competed in the Jacksonville Classic, Monday and Tuesday. The Bulldogs tied for 10
th in the event.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The Samford women's tennis team opened its fall schedule by hosting the first of its two Samford Round Robin tournaments. The Bulldogs were joined by South Alabama, Tulane and Memphis in the event.
The team will host the second Samford Round Robin at the Samford Tennis Center, Oct. 11-13. The event will run Friday through Sunday and admission is FREE.
MEN'S TENNIS
The Samford men's tennis team will open its fall schedule Oct. 4-6 by hosting its own Samford Round Robin at the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the tournament is FREE.
