BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team dropped a 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 12-15) in Southern Conference action Friday night at the Pete Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 12-5 overall and 6-1 in SoCon play. ETSU improves to 17-3 overall and 8-0 in league matches.

KEY MOMENTS
- In the first set, ETSU jumped out to a 10-6 lead.
- The Bucs led by as many as seven points at 21-14, and they held on for the 25-21 set win.
- ETSU grabbed a 10-5 lead in the second set.
- Samford fought back to close to within one point at 24-23, but ETSU closed out the 25-23 set win.
- In the third set, after falling behind 5-3 early, Samford rallied to take a 12-8 lead.
- Samford led the rest of the set, coming away with the 25-22 win.
- Samford built a seven-point lead at 17-10 in the fourth set.
- The Bulldogs controlled the entire set, finishing with the 25-19 win, forcing a fifth set.
- In the fifth set, Samford took a 7-4 advantage.
- ETSU, however, stormed back to take a 13-10 lead and eventually took the set, 15-12, and the match, 3-2.
