BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 28-26) win over the Mercer Bears Wednesday evening in the Pete Hanna Center.
With the win, Samford improves to 17-5 overall and 11-1 in SoCon play. The match was Samford's final home contest of the 2019 season. Mercer falls to 11-13 overall and 4-7 in league play.

KEY MOMENTS
- Samford started the first set off hot, grabbing an early 6-1 lead.
- The Bulldogs led the entire first set, coming away with the 25-10 set victory.
- In the second set Samford built a 10-point lead at 20-10, but Mercer fought back to cut the lead to 21-16.
- Samford, however, scored four of the next five points to take the 25-17 win.
- In the third set, Samford fell behind, 6-2, but the Bulldogs fought back to take the lead at 12-11.
- Samford built a 20-16 lead, but Mercer came back to tie the score at 24-24.
- The teams traded points until Samford pulled out the 28-26 set win and the 3-0 match victory.
