GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Samford volleyball team earned a 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-19) win at UNCG Friday evening at Fleming Gymnasium.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 18-5 overall and 12-1 in Southern Conference play. UNCG falls to 9-18 overall and 3-10 in league matches.

KEY MOMENTS

• In the first set, UNCG grabbed a 10-7 lead.
• With UNCG leading, 13-10, Samford went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-13 lead.
• Samford built a 21-16 lead, but UNCG used a 9-1 run to take the set, 25-22.
• In the second set, with Samford leading, 5-4, the Bulldogs went on a 9-2 run to take a 14-6 lead.
• Samford built its lead out to 18-9, and the Bulldogs won the second set, 25-15.
• The third set was close early until, with Samford leading, 10-9, the Bulldogs went on a 13-1 run to take a 23-10 lead.
• Samford took the third set by a score of 25-11.
• The fourth set was tight most of the way.
• With Samford leading, 18-17, the Bulldogs closed the set with a 7-2 run to take the 25-19 set win and the 3-1 match victory.

• Kelsi Hobbs led Samford with 22 kills in the win.
• Grace Tiesman had 13 kills and 15 digs.
• Lauren Deaton tallied nine kills and 11 digs for Samford.
• Emily Naubert finished the match with a team-high 26 digs.
• Corinne Meglic had 43 assists in the win.
