SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-10) win over The Citadel Friday afternoon at Richardson Indoor Stadium.
With the win, Samford improves to 22-5 on the season, and the Bulldogs will take on Furman in Saturday's semifinal round. The Citadel ends its season with a mark of 11-20.

KEY MOMENTS
- The first set was tight early until Samford was able to take a 21-13 lead.
- The Citadel closed to within three points at 24-21, but Samford was able to finish it off with a 25-21 win.
- In the second set, Samford jumped out to a 13-6 lead.
- With Samford leading, 17-11, the Bulldogs scored eight of the final nine points to win the set, 25-12.
- Samford got off to a fast start in the third set as well, taking a 17-5 lead.
- The Bulldogs completed the three-set sweep with a 25-10 set win and a 3-0 match victory.
