FULL SCHEDULE
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Games with SEC foes Mississippi State, Auburn and Alabama, along with the always-tough Southern Conference schedule highlight the Samford baseball team's 2020 schedule, released by head coach
Casey Dunn Monday morning.
The Bulldogs will open the season with a three-game home series with UNC Asheville, Feb. 14-16 at Joe Lee Griffin Field. The team will then play at Mississippi State (Feb. 18) before competing in the SAF Dirt Classic in Nashville, Feb. 20-23. In the tournament, Samford will take on Belmont, Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee and Lipscomb.
Samford will then host Northern Kentucky in a four-game series, Feb. 28-Mar. 1. After travelling to Auburn Mar. 1, Samford will play in the Cox Invitational in Pensacola, Fla., Mar. 6-8, taking on Lafayette, Troy and Michigan State.
After home games with Alabama A&M (Mar. 10) and North Alabama (Mar. 11), the Bulldogs will take on Jacksonville State in a three-game weekend series. The teams will play Mar. 13 in Jacksonville, Ala., Mar. 14 at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium and Mar. 15 at Joe Lee Griffin Field. Samford will then play at UAB in a game at Regions Field, Mar. 17.
Samford will open Southern Conference play with a series at Furman (Mar. 20-22). After a game at Alabama State (Mar. 24) the Bulldogs will host VMI in a SoCon series, Mar. 27-29. Samford will then host Alabama, Mar. 31 at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
Next up for Samford is a road Southern Conference series at The Citadel, Apr. 3-5. The Bulldogs will then host UAB, Apr. 7, before hosting a SoCon series with Mercer, Apr. 9-11.
Samford will then take on Auburn again, this time at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Apr. 14. The Bulldogs will then play a non-conference series at Purdue, Apr. 17-19, before playing at Alabama, Apr. 21.
The Bulldogs will then play a SoCon series at UNC Greensboro, Apr. 24-26. The team will then play at Troy (Apr. 28), before hosting ETSU in a SoCon series (May 1-3). After hosting Alabama State (May 5), Samford will host another conference series with Wofford (May 8-10).
Samford will wrap up its regular season with a three-game series at Western Carolina, May 14-16. The 2020 Southern Conference Tournament will again be played at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. This year's event is scheduled for May 19-24.
