GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The game time for tonight's Southern Conference Tournaemnt championship game between Samford and The Citadel has been moved up to 6 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (ET) due to inclement weather in the Greenville area.
Samford comes into Saturday night's game with a record of 31-24 overall and 12-9 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs earned a 13-1 win in seven innings over UNCG in the first round of the tournament. Samford then defeated Western Carolina, 9-5 in the second round and then earned a 5-1, 13-inning win over WCU in the semifinals.
The Citadel enters Saturday night's game with a mark of 34-24 overall and 11-10 in SoCon play. The Citadel has reached the championship game with wins over VMI (21-11), Wofford (13-7), Mercer (9-2) and Mercer again (14-4).
