RUSTON, La. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a 78-57 decision at Louisiana Tech Saturday evening.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 4-5 on the season. Louisiana Tech improves to 5-2 with the win.

• Robert Allen led Samford with 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Josh Sharkey had 13 points and six assists.
• Logan Dye had 10 points and six rebounds.

 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• The teams traded baskets early until Louisiana Tech was able to take a 12-8 lead with 11:57 left in the first half after a jumper by Oliver Powell.
• Samford came back to take a 15-14 lead with 9:56 to go in the half following a three-pointer by Donte Tatum.
• With Samford trailing, 20-19, Louisiana Tech went on a 10-0 run to take a 30-19 lead with 1:12 left in the half after a pair of free throws by Derric Jean.
• Louisiana Tech took a 33-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• Louisiana Tech opened the second half on a 6-0 run to push its lead to 39-24.
• Louisiana Tech stretched its lead to 20 points at 48-28 with 13:15 left.
• Samford went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 13 points at 48-35 with 12:23 left after two free throws by Allen.
• Samford, however, could get no closer than 13 points the rest of the way and Louisiana tech came away with a 78-57 win.
