CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford women's basketball team overcame a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit, but eventually fell at Chattanooga, 61-56 Thursday night at McKenzie Arena.
With the loss, Samford falls to 9-17 overall and 4-7 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga improves to 12-14 overall and 7-4 in league contests.

- Ta'Naisha Hill led Samford in the game with 19 points.
- Natalie Armstrong scored 13 points, while Katie Allen added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
- Chattanooga was led by Arianne Whitaker, Lakelyn Bouldin and Eboni Williams with 12 points each.
- Morgan Hill added 10 points for the Mocs.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Chattanooga jumped out to an early 7-2 lead with 7:41 left in the first quarter.
- Samford closed the period with an 11-2 run to take a 13-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Samford pushed its lead to nine points at 20-11 with 7:36 left in the second quarter following a layup by Samantha Fitzgerald.
- Chattanooga fought back to take a 24-22 lead with 26 seconds left in the second period.
- A three-pointer by Samford's Hill with three seconds left in the quarter gave Samford a 25-24 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.
- Chattanooga started the third quarter with a 14-0 run to take a 38-25 lead with 3:51 left in the period.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to nine at 38-29, but Chattanooga held a 43-31 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
- In the fourth quarter, with Chattanooga leading, 56-48, Samford went on an 8-3 run to cut the lead to just three at 59-56 with 51 seconds to go after a three-pointer by Hill.
- Samford, however, could get no closer as Chattanooga closed out the 61-56 win.
