BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team hit a school-record 16 three-pointers as the Bulldogs earned a 79-62 win over Wofford Thursday afternoon in the Pete Hanna Center.
With the win, Samford improves to 10-18 overall and 5-8 in Southern Conference play. Wofford falls to 15-13 overall and 7-6 in league games.

- The 16 three-pointers passes the old record of 15, accomplished three times, most recently at St. Peter's in 2010.
- Individually, Cassidy Williams scored 20 points, making 7-of-13 shots overall and 6-of-10 from three-point range.
- Samantha Fitzgerald scored 19 points, making a career high five three-pointers.
- Natalie Armstrong posted her fourth double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
- Ta'Naisha Hill added 14 points for the Bulldogs.
- Paige Serup dished out a career-high six assists and grabbed seven rebounds for Samford as well.
- Wofford was led by Chloe Wanink with 20 points, while Cairo Booker added 12 points for the Terriers.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Samford got off to a hot start, scoring the first eight points of the game on a pair of three-pointers by Williams and a layup by Armstrong for an 8-0 lead with 6:43 left in the first quarter.
- Wofford fought back to cut the lead to two at 10-8, but Samford closed the quarter on a 9-3 run to take a 19-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Wofford opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run to tie the score at 19-19 with 8:24 left in the period.
- Samford answered with a 10-1 run to take a 29-20 lead at the 5:00 mark in the second quarter after a layup by Fitzgerald.
- After Wofford cut the lead to five at 29-24, Samford closed the second quarter with an 8-2 run to take a 37-26 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- Samford pushed its lead out to 19 points at 46-27 with 6:20 to go in the third quarter following a jumper by Armstrong.
- Wofford fought back to cut the lead to 12 points at 47-35 with 4:00 left in the period.
- Samford pushed the lead back out to 18 points at 56-38 after a three-pointer by Fitzgerald.
- Samford held a 59-42 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
- In the fourth quarter, Samford led by as many as 23 points on three different occasions.
- Samford came away with the 79-62 victory.
