GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG used a late 13-0 run to pull ahead on its way to a 75-67 win over the Samford men's basketball team Thursday evening at the Greensboro Coliseum.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 14-11 overall and 4-8 in Southern Conference play. UNCG improves to 21-4 overall and 10-1 in league play.

• Robert Allen tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds.

• UNCG jumped out to a 13-7 lead with 13:42 to go in the first half.
• The Spartans pushed their lead to 10 points at 21-11 with 10:30 left in the first half.
• Samford closed to within five points at 32-27 with 41 seconds left in the half after a pair of free throws by Allen.
• A late UNCG three-pointer pushed the Spartans' lead to 35-27 heading into the locker room at halftime.
• After UNCG pushed its lead to 37-27 early in the second half, Samford went on a 12-2 run to knot the score at 39-39 with 15:48 to go after a three-pointer by Thomas.
• UNCG answered with a 9-0 run to take a 48-39 lead with 12:44 left in the contest.
• With UNCG leading, 50-41, Samford went on a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 52-50 with 7:36 left after a layup by Sharkey.
• The Bulldogs tied the score at 59-59 with 4:02 to go after a layup by Allen.
• UNCG answered with a 13-0 run to take a 72-59 lead with 1:38 left in the contest.
• Samford cut the lead to six at 73-67, but the Bulldogs could get no closer as UNCG came away with the 75-67 victory.
