Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader At Georgia State

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Samford baseball team swept a doubleheader from Georgia State to earn a three-game series sweep of the Panthers Saturday afternoon. Samford won the first game, 8-6, and then took the final game by a score of 2-1.
 
With the sweep, Samford improves to 7-3, while Georgia State falls to 3-8 with the losses.

FROM THE BOX SCORE
  • Branden Fryman went 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead Samford at the plate.
  • Connor Burns went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for the Bulldogs.
  • Eric Sottile (1-0) pitched 1.0 inning in relief without allowing a hit to earn the win on the mound for Samford.
  • Stephen Jones picked up his second save of the season, pitching the final hitless inning.
  • Jake Corso went 3-for-5 with three RBI for Georgia State.
  • Joseph Brandon (0-2) took the loss for Georgia State, tossing 2.1 innings in relief, allowing two runs on one hit.
