SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford sophomore center Natalie Armstrong earned third team All-SoCon honors when the league released its postseason women's basketball awards Tuesday afternoon.
 
For the season, Armstrong leads her team in both scoring (10.0 ppg.) and rebounding (6.0 rpg.). She posted a team-high four double-doubles during the 2018-19 season.
 
In Southern Conference games, the Norcross, Ga., native averaged 11.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. For the season, she ranks fourth in the SoCon in field goal percentage (.506), and ranks fifth in the league in blocked shots per game (1.1 bpg.).
 
Armstrong and the seventh-seeded Bulldogs will open play in the Southern Conference Tournament against the second-seeded Furman Paladins. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. (CT) start Thursday at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, N.C.
