BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford baseball team earned its eighth-straight win in a 4-2 victory over Alabama A&M Tuesday night at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
With the win, Samford improves to 30-11. This marks the fastest any Samford team has ever reached 30 wins, besting the 2012 team that reached the mark in 46 games. This is the 12
th 30-win season in 15 seasons under head coach

FROM THE BOX SCORE
- Ayrton Schafer went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Samford at the plate.
- Max Pinto also went 2-for-4 for the Bulldogs.
- Kaden Dreier drove in two runs, going 1-for-3 at the plate.
- Jalon Long (3-1) pitched 4.0 innings, giving up one run on five hits to earn the win on the mound for Samford.
- Stephen Jones picked up his 10th save of the season, tossing the final hitless inning.
- For Alabama A&M, Justin Lott and Will Hampson drove in a run each.
- Yavier Febus (1-4) pitched 3.0 innings, giving up four runs on three hits to take the loss for the visiting Bulldogs.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Samford jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Dreier drove in two runs and Schafer drove in one as Samford took a 3-0 lead.
- Samford added a run in the second inning to make the score 4-0. Pinto scored on a sacrifice fly by Branden Fryman to give Samford a four-run lead.
- Alabama A&M plated a run in the third inning and another in the fifth inning to make the final score 4-2.
