BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the start of the season less than a month away, Samford University head coach
Casey Dunn cordially invites fans and alumni to join the Diamond Society, the official booster club of Bulldogs baseball.
Established in 2016, the Diamond Society provides direct financial support for the Samford baseball program. Diamond Society members receive various benefits including season ticket passes, exclusive access to special events and content, and apparel.
The Diamond Society's 6th Annual First Pitch Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, January 30 inside the Regions Room at Cooney Hall.
"We're excited to have Travis Fryman as our special guest at this year's event. His impressive big league career spans nearly 30 years as a player and coach." Dunn said.
Fryman, a five-time MLB All-Star and Gold Glove winner, spent 13 seasons in the majors between Detroit and Cleveland. The Pensacola, Fla., native, played in 1,696 games, amassing a career .274 batting average with 345 doubles, 223 home runs and 1,022 RBI in a distinguished career.
Fryman, who made four postseason appearances with the Indians, has moved from the diamond to the dugout, currently serving as an advisor to Player Development in the Cleveland Indians organization.

Samford opens the season versus North Carolina-Ashville on Friday, Feb. 14 at Joe Lee Griffin Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM. Season tickets are available online at SamfordSports.com.
